The beautiful Eilean Donan Castle in the Scottish highlands

Eilean Donan Castle has an amazing presence, especially at night, which is when I took the picture as we arrived in the area to rest for the night. I’d seen pictures of  this beautiful place on the internet but to actually be in front of this majestic scenery truly was breathtaking.

The Photographer

Joanna Nixon is a practising artist and photographer born in Melbourne,  Australia, and now based in North London. Underlying her body of work  are ideas of romance, the inherent beauty of the landscape, longing,  simplicity and memory.

Constantly inspired by travel, in turn photography allows me to capture  this inspiration into a collective body of work documenting my journey  along my travels.
