I Don’t Do Bucket Lists But If I Did It Would Look Something Like This

I have never been one for writing a bucket-list, simply because there are so many things I would like to do, so many places I would like to visit and so many people I would like to meet that I couldn’t possibly write it all down but as a little taster I thought I would share with you today just 50 things that I would like to see, do and experience here in Blighty.

1. Enjoy a dawn walk around the famous sites of London

2. Go paragliding in the Peak District National Park

3. Have a photo published in the National Geographic

4. Climb Scotland’s Ben Nevis

5. Attend a lecture at the Royal Geographical Society

6. Fly in a World War 2 plane

7. Travel from London to Scotland on the Caledonian Sleeper train

8. Rent a beautiful cottage in the countryside

9. Take a road trip right the way around Britain and Northern Ireland

10. Learn to Ski in Scotland

11. Walk the Pembrokeshire coastal path in Wales

12. Spend a week camping at the War & Peace show

13. Take my first ever hot air balloon ride

14. Drive a steam train

15. Publish a guide to World War 2 sites in Britain

16. Meet Michael Palin

17. Complete an adventure challenge to raise money for Anxiety UK

18. Visit South Georgia in Antarctica

19. Spend the night in a castle

20. Get married in beautiful stately home

21. Visit Gibraltar

22. Run a marathon and survive

23. Cycle the famous end2end route across Britain

24. Have lunch on the Orient Express

25. Raise money and awareness for Crohn’s & Colitis UK

26. Finally work out how to use my Nikon DSLR camera

27. Explore the Orkney and Shetland Islands

28. Watch Liverpool beat Manchester United at Anfield

29. Buy a camper van or at least rent one for a holiday

30. Visit Chartwell house, the family home of Winston Churchill

31. Arrange and play in a charity Cricket match

32. Explore the Lake District National Park

33. Learn to surf in Corwall

34. Visit the Falkland Islands

35. Take on a mountain bike race or challenge

36. Enjoy fish & chips on a beautiful, sunny evening on the beach

37. Buy a house in the country

38. Search for the Northern Lights in Scotland

39. Take a cruise around the British Isles

40. Visit all of Britain’s Unesco’s World Heritage Sites

41. Go swimming in one of Britain’s great lakes

42. Travel on the ‘Night Riviera’ sleeper train between London & Cornwall

43. Pay my respects to the WW1 & WW2 war dead at a cemetery in Europe

44. Trek the 95 miles West highland Way in Scotland

45. Hire a canal boat

46. Discover the history of Titanic in Belfast

47. Spend a weekend in London as the ultimate tourist – visiting the famous sites, double decker bus tour, union jack hat and singing the national anthem. Ok, maybe not that extreme but you get what I mean.

48. Join a WW2 re-enactment group and attend a 1940s weekend.

49. Go book shopping in the second-hand-book capital of the world,  Hay-on-Wye
