Rachel Recommends… Fun in the Snow!

This week’s wintry weather brought Britain to a stand still as most of the country became covered in a thick blanket of snow. The freezing conditions may have caused havoc but they also created plenty of magical photo opportunities for those brave enough to venture out. I didn’t manage to get further than my local Italian restaurant so I decided to take to Twitter and ask my followers to send me their snaps. Here are some of the fabulous images I received and as you can see, Britain really has been transformed in to a winter wonderland!

Just when I thought the Lake District couldn’t get any more picturesque, these stunning images arrived from a friend living in Cumbria. It’s easy to see why photographers and winter sports enthusiasts flock here. For more check out Golakes.co.uk

Anyone fancy a boat trip?

Meanwhile in Newcastle, Leazes Park looked like a picture postcard. Although the resident swans looked far from happy!

These little Eskimos had great fun playing in South Staffordshire, thanks to their dad Ian for sending in the photo. I think you earned a well deserved hot chocolate after all that building work!

Another couple who got creative in the snow were Anna and Matt from Tyne and Wear. Why build a snowman when you can build Batman? I couldn’t help but think how perfect it would have been if a little Robin had decided to pop by!

Anna’s crime fighting friend is very cool!

And finally, here’s one of many beautiful photos taken by Lucy from Manchester. You can follow Lucy on instagram to see more instagram.com/lucysimmers/

Well that’s all for now guys, I’m hibernating for the rest of the week but you can keep in touch on twitter @rachmotormouth

Rachel Kershaw is 31 and lives in Newcastle upon Tyne but is originally from Rochdale. With parents who have never even owned passports, it was inevitable that Rachel would fall in love with holidays in Britain. It was her genuine passion that saw her win the opportunity to be VisitEngland’s Fan in a Van in summer 2012 – an adventure that involved ten weeks on the road in a vintage VW camper blogging about everything from bungee jumping, hot air ballooning and surfing to visiting museums, zoos and numerous British eateries! What a lucky lady!
